Weast Coast Bias

About the authors:

Matt:
I've spent a lot of time thoroughly entrenched in the New England, Florida, and Philadelphia/Baltimore sports markets. I follow the MLB and NFL actively throughout the year. I watch the MLS, EPL, NBA and NHL sparingly during the seasons, but thoroughly track their respective playoffs. I have a great interest in stats and player transactions including trades, free agency and especially drafts.

Matt's Biases:
I like the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins, Celtics, Tampa Bay (Devil) Rays, the US National Soccer team and underdogs.

I dislike the Yankees, Steelers, Jets, Lakers, New Jersey Devils, players who seek out media attention and criminals that are still allowed to play.

Brian:

I am originally from the Northeast, and now reside in the New York/New Jersey area.  Although I am from this area, my allegiances do not lie with the local teams.  I have been a fan of the Atlanta Braves since 1991, the Dallas Cowboys since 1992, and the Pittsburgh Penguins since 1993.  I more recently have become a fan of the Baltimore Ravens.

I actively watch baseball, football and hockey, but also occasionally watch the NBA and MLS.  I watch tennis and golf during the majors mostly.  I am a stat buff and number cruncher, and am always looking for new information.  Basically, if there is a sporting event on TV, I am probably watching it.

Brian's Biases:

I like the Braves, Cowboys, Ravens, Penguins, and as Matt said, I am always a fan of the underdog story.

I dislike the Yankees, Mets, Phillies, Red Sox, Eagles, Patriots, Jets, Flyers, Capitals, Devils and Rangers (but don't mistake "dislike" for "disrespect" in most cases).  I also dislike sports media in most cases, especially the route that ESPN has taken (being more concerned with Brett Favre's text messages and Ben Roethlisberger's female trouble than sports highlights).  Thank god for Baseball Tonight.
